25 mOhm Rds(on) — the thermal budget driver
The VN5E025AJTR-E is a single-channel high-side N-channel power switch from ST's VIPower family. Without that thermal path, the junction will hit the 150 °C limit well before the load reaches the 43 A ceiling.
Fault coverage without external glue
For a BOM that drives a solenoid, a lamp, or a DC motor, these four protections remove the need for a separate current-sense resistor, a comparator, and a TVS diode — the VIPower die handles them. The input is non-inverting and the interface is a single On/Off pin; no external Vcc supply is required.
There is no last-time-buy deadline on the horizon.
The load supply can span 4.5 V to 28 V. The 43 A peak rating is a pulse-capable figure; the continuous current is thermally limited by the board layout.
