6 m ranging with I²C readout
The VL53L4CXV0DH/1 is a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor from STMicroelectronics that measures distance from 0 to 6 m via a single-shot or continuous I²C readout. The 6 m maximum range is the defining parametric — it covers long-range presence detection, drone landing assist, and warehouse bin-level sensing where shorter ToF sensors (1.3 m or 0.6 m) would miss the target. Supply voltage is 2.6 V nominal, and the sensor draws 21 mA during active ranging.
Industrial temperature grade and deployment
Rated for -30°C to 85°C ambient, the VL53L4CXV0DH/1 fits outdoor enclosures, cold-chain logistics, and factory-floor automation where the sensor sees seasonal temperature swings. The wide range also covers the interior of a parked vehicle in summer or winter — relevant for in-cabin occupancy detection. No special handling beyond MSL precautions is required.
