65 W flyback with integrated 650 V switch and SR
The VIPERGAN65TR is an advanced quasi-resonant offline flyback converter rated for 65 W output with a 650 V internal power switch. The secondary-side synchronous rectification topology cuts the post-rectifier forward drop to the Rds(on) of a MOSFET. The exposed pad pulls heat into the PCB copper plane; the 150 °C junction rating allows the die to run hot in a sealed enclosure. The 50 % duty-cycle ceiling limits the step-down ratio in continuous mode.
Supply rails and protection set
The Vcc range of 9 V to 23 V covers standard bias from an auxiliary winding or a regulated rail; the 15 V start-up threshold ensures the converter begins switching only after the bias capacitor has charged past the UVLO rising edge. Built-in fault protection — current limiting, over-temperature, and UVLO — shuts down the gate drive without external sense resistors. Soft-start ramps the duty cycle on power-up, which prevents output overshoot and inrush current that could trip the upstream input fuse. The output isolation flag confirms the feedback path crosses the isolation barrier — the secondary-side SR gate signal must be coupled through a pulse transformer or a digital isolator.
The tape-and-reel ordering code is the standard production reel; the cut-tape variant is also available for prototype builds.
