The STMicroelectronics VIPER28LDTR is a monolithic flyback switcher from the VIPer™ plus family that integrates an 800 V avalanche-rugged power MOSFET and a PWM controller in a single 16-SOIC package. It delivers up to 16 W of isolated output power at a fixed 60 kHz switching frequency with an 80% maximum duty cycle.

Built-in fault protection reduces external BOM

The controller includes current limiting, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit protection — four fault responses that eliminate the need for discrete sense resistors and comparators on the primary side. Start-up voltage is 14 V, and the Vcc operating range spans 8.5 V to 23.5 V, giving headroom for auxiliary winding regulation across line and load.
