Flyback switcher for 16 W isolated supplies
The STMicroelectronics VIPER28HE is a monolithic flyback PWM controller with an integrated 800 V power MOSFET, part of the VIPer™ plus series. It delivers up to 16 W in an isolated topology, switching at 115 kHz. The 80 % duty cycle ceiling and built-in fault protection — current limiting, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit — suit it for auxiliary and bias supplies in industrial and consumer power converters.
Sourcing a discontinued part — what to expect
The VIPER28HE is listed as obsolete. For BOM lines that cannot migrate to a newer VIPer device, the remaining supply is limited to independent-distributor inventory and surplus channels.
