Product details

12 W flyback with 730 V avalanche-rugged MOSFET

The VIPER22ADIP integrates a 730 V breakdown MOSFET and PWM controller in an 8-DIP through-hole package, delivering up to 12 W in a flyback topology with output isolation.

Fixed 60 kHz switching — transformer design is locked

The switching frequency is fixed at 60 kHz, which sets the transformer core size and turns ratio before you start. There is no frequency-foldback or spread-spectrum option, so the EMI filter must handle the fundamental and its harmonics at full load. The 8 V to 38 V supply range on Vcc lets the IC run directly from an auxiliary winding once the converter starts up at 14.5 V.

Built-in fault protections — current limit, OTP, OVP

On-chip fault protection includes current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage protection.

Frequently asked questions
