Product details

12 W, 800 V integrated switcher in a 16-SOIC

The STMicroelectronics VIPER0PLD is a monolithic offline switching regulator from the VIPer™ plus family, integrating a power MOSFET with an 800 V breakdown rating and a PWM controller in a 16-SOIC package. It delivers up to 12 W in flyback, buck, or buck-boost topologies with either isolated or non-isolated output configurations.

60 kHz fixed-frequency operation with 80 % duty cycle

The internal oscillator runs at 60 kHz, and the duty cycle reaches 80 % — wide enough for most offline flyback designs down to 4.5 V Vcc. The start-up voltage is 8 V, and the supply range from 4.5 V to 30 V covers auxiliary winding regulation. Fault protection includes current limiting, overload, over-temperature, and short-circuit shutdown — all on-chip, no external sense resistor needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum output power of VIPER0PLD?

The VIPER0PLD is rated for 12 W output power in typical offline flyback or buck configurations.
