Product details

800V off-line switcher for auxiliary supplies

The STMicroelectronics VIPER013LS is an off-line switching regulator with an integrated 800V power MOSFET, rated for 7 W output and switching at 60 kHz. It supports buck, buck-boost, and flyback topologies with output isolation configured as either isolated or non-isolated — a single device covers the bulk of auxiliary and bias supply needs in motor drives, PLCs, IoT gateways, and appliance control boards.

Fault protection keeps the BOM lean

On-chip fault protection covers current limiting, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit events. That eliminates the external sense resistor, OVP clamp, and thermal shutdown circuit you would otherwise add — the VIPER013LS handles all four without extra passives.

The 7 W output at 60 kHz switching keeps the junction below 150 °C in most layouts, but the copper area under the SSOP body sets the thermal resistance.

Frequently asked questions

Can VIPER013LS be used in a 12V output flyback?

Yes. The VIPER013LS supports flyback topology with output isolation configurable as either isolated or non-isolated. The 800V breakdown MOSFET and 60 kHz switching frequency are well within the range for a 12 V output flyback at up to 7 W.
