Automotive-grade quad op-amp for sensor conditioning and control loops
The STMicroelectronics TSV324AIYPT is a quad general-purpose operational amplifier from the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, qualified for use in automotive and industrial environments where reliability under temperature extremes is mandatory. It packs four rail-to-rail output amplifiers in a compact 14-TSSOP package, drawing 500 µA total supply current per amplifier — a good fit for battery-backed or thermally constrained modules like engine control units, transmission sensors, and body electronics.
The 1.4 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.6 V/µs slew rate set this part squarely in the general-purpose band — fine for filtering, level shifting, and slow control loops (e.g., temperature or pressure sensor conditioning), but not for high-speed signal chains or video. The 100 µV input offset voltage is a meaningful improvement over older quad op-amps like the LM324 (typically 2 mV), reducing the need for external trimming in DC-accurate circuits. Rail-to-rail output swing gives the full dynamic range in low-voltage single-supply designs — a practical advantage when the ADC reference is the supply rail.
The TSV324AIYPT comes in a 14-TSSOP package with a 0.65 mm lead pitch. It's a surface-mount part, so it places cleanly with standard pick-and-place equipment, but the fine pitch calls for a well-designed solder-paste stencil to avoid bridging.
