What this comparator brings to the board
The STMicroelectronics TS861ILT is a single-channel general-purpose comparator in a SOT-23-5 package, built for signal conditioning and threshold detection in industrial and consumer circuits. Its push-pull output sinks and sources directly, so you skip the external pull-up resistor that open-drain comparators need — one fewer part on the BOM and one less trace to route. Propagation delay is 2 µs — fast enough for overcurrent detection, zero-crossing, and window comparators in motor drives or power supplies, but not a high-speed comparator for RF or GHz-level edge counting. The industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) covers outdoor telecom, factory-floor sensors, and engine-bay-adjacent electronics.
