Dual differential comparator with flexible output
The TS372IDT is a dual differential comparator from STMicroelectronics, designed for general-purpose signal threshold detection in industrial and automotive environments. Its differential input type allows comparison of two analog signals against each other, making it suitable for window comparators, zero-crossing detectors, and sensor threshold circuits.
Operates from a single supply of 3V to 16V or dual supplies of ±1.5V to ±8V, covering both battery-powered and industrial rail applications without needing a separate regulator.
Output flexibility and quiescent current
The output stage supports CMOS, MOS, open-drain, and TTL logic families — the open-drain option lets multiple comparators share a common pull-up for wired-OR configurations. Maximum quiescent current is 375µA per device, keeping the thermal budget low in multi-channel boards. Each output can sink or source up to 20mA typical, enough to drive a logic input or a small LED indicator without a buffer.
Input precision for low-level signals
Maximum input offset voltage is 10mV at 5V — this sets the detectable threshold error floor; for a 50mV reference, the error is 20% of the threshold, so a precision reference or trimming is needed for tighter windows.
