Product details

AEC-Q100 Grade 1 shunt reference for under-hood regulation

The TL431AIYDT is a shunt voltage reference from STMicroelectronics, qualified to AEC-Q100, making it suitable for automotive electronics where the OEM auditor expects PPAP documentation and a named temperature grade.

Adjustable output from 2.495V to 36V with 1% tolerance

The internal reference is 2.495V typical, and two external resistors set the output anywhere up to 36V. The ±1% tolerance on the reference voltage means the output tracks the resistor divider ratio within that band — a 12V rail derived from a 1% divider and a 1% reference holds ±1.4% total, tight enough for an ADC reference or a comparator threshold. Cathode current floor is 700 µA typical, and the device sinks up to 100 mA continuous. This dynamic range lets it drive an optocoupler LED in a feedback loop at low bias and still clamp a supply rail during a transient without saturating the output stage.

8-SOIC surface-mount package for automated assembly

The tape-and-reel packaging option means the part feeds directly into a pick-and-place machine without a reel change — the BOM line is ready for high-volume production.
