Adjustable shunt reference in an 8-SOIC — ±1% tolerance, 2.495 V to 36 V
It delivers a ±1% initial tolerance on the 2.495 V internal reference, and the output can be set anywhere from that minimum up to 36 V using two external resistors. Cathode current rating is 100 mA, with a minimum operating current of 600 µA.
±1% tolerance — the precision tier for this shunt reference
The ±1% tolerance on the TL431ACDT puts it in the precision band of the TL431 family. For a 2.5 V reference, that means the output sits within 25 mV of nominal at 25°C before any temperature drift. That's tight enough for most 8-bit and 12-bit ADC references, error-amplifier setpoints, and comparator thresholds.
