Slew rate and bandwidth: what they mean for signal fidelity
The 16 V/µs slew rate supports large-signal swings up to roughly 250 kHz at full output before slew-induced distortion sets in. For small-signal applications, the 4 MHz gain-bandwidth product defines the closed-loop bandwidth at a given gain—unity-gain bandwidth is 4 MHz, dropping to 400 kHz at a gain of 10. These numbers are typical for a general-purpose JFET op-amp and are adequate for audio processing, motor-current sensing at moderate bandwidths, and low-frequency ADC front-ends.
