Product details

Single-channel high-side driver for inductive loads

The TDE1747FPT from STMicroelectronics is a single-output high-side power driver designed to switch relays, solenoids, and other inductive loads. The On/Off interface accepts both inverting and non-inverting input signals, giving the system designer flexibility to match the logic polarity of the upstream controller without an external inverter gate. Operating temperature spans -25°C to 85°C — this covers most factory-floor and indoor equipment enclosures but does not extend to under-hood automotive or engine-bay ambient. For those environments, a wider-temperature-grade driver would be needed.

Protection set: adjustable current limit and thermal shutdown

Fault protection includes adjustable current limiting and over-temperature shutdown. The current limit is set with an external resistor, so the same PCB layout can serve multiple load ratings by changing one component value — useful when a single BOM covers several solenoid variants. The over-temperature protection prevents die damage if the load draws sustained current near the 1 A ceiling in a warm enclosure. The driver latches off until the junction cools, then restarts — a self-resetting behaviour that avoids a blown fuse on a transient overload. No external Vcc supply is required for the driver's internal logic — the device is self-powered from the load voltage, simplifying the bill of materials by eliminating a separate bias rail.

ROHS3 compliant, covering the full ten restricted substances including the four phthalates added in the 2015/863 amendment.

Available in Tape & Reel (TR) for automated pick-and-place assembly, or Cut Tape (CT) for prototype and low-volume builds. Surface-mount mounting — no through-hole variant exists for this part. The SOIC footprint is industry-standard, so no custom land pattern is required.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum load current for the TDE1747FPT?

The maximum continuous output current is 1 A. The load supply voltage range is 10 V to 45 V. The current limit is adjustable via an external resistor.
