Product details

Package and board-fit — D²Pak (TO-263-3) surface-mount power tab

The T2535-600G-TR ships in a D²Pak (TO-263-3) package — also referred to as D2PAK or TO-263AB — with two leads plus the exposed tab (the drain/MT2 terminal). A 25 A RMS triac in this package demands a well-vented or forced-air heatsink if the ambient exceeds 85 °C, or the junction temperature climbs toward the 125 °C absolute maximum.

25 A RMS, 600 V — Snubberless Alternistor for inductive loads

This is a 25 A RMS on-state, 600 V off-state Alternistor triac from ST's Snubberless™ series. The Alternistor structure provides commutating dv/dt immunity in quadrant IV (T2– G+), meaning it switches inductive loads — motors, solenoids, transformers — without an external snubber in many designs. The Snubberless label is not marketing: the device is characterised for zero-snubber operation up to its rated current, saving two or three passives per phase. The 250 A / 260 A non-repetitive surge rating (50/60 Hz) covers the inrush from a motor start or a cold incandescent filament. The 35 mA maximum gate trigger current (Igt) and 1.3 V Vgt mean a standard optocoupler or a logic-level gate driver can fire it directly — no external driver buffer needed.

Industrial temperature grade and compliance

The hold current (Ih) is 80 mA maximum, which keeps the triac latched through the zero-cross of a 100 W incandescent load on a 230 V line. RoHS3 compliant per — no restricted substances above the threshold.

Frequently asked questions

How does T2535-600G-TR compare to the T2550-12G-TR?

The T2550-12G-TR is a 1200 V, 25 A Alternistor in the same D²Pak package — the key difference is the voltage rating. The T2535-600G-TR is a 600 V device, so it fits 240/277 VAC line applications. The T2550-12G-TR covers 480 VAC three-phase circuits. Both are Snubberless™ series with the same gate trigger current (35 mA). They are not pin-compatible substitutes unless the off-state voltage margin is re-evaluated.
