20 A Snubberless triac for industrial AC switching
The STMicroelectronics T2035H-8I is a 20 A RMS Alternistor-Snubberless triac in a TO-220AB Insulated package, rated for 800 V off-state blocking. Its Snubberless construction allows direct drive of inductive loads—motors, solenoids, transformers—without the external RC snubber typically required by standard triacs, simplifying the BOM and saving board space. The fully isolated tab eliminates the insulating washer for metal-chassis mounting, a time-saver in panel assembly.
Ratings that define the load interface
The 20 A RMS on-state current covers continuous loads. The 200 A / 210 A non-repetitive surge capability handles capacitive loads and lamp cold-filament inrush.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 125°C junction temperature, this triac suits industrial environments: motor drives, HVAC compressor controls, industrial lighting ballasts, and outdoor switching enclosures. The 125°C upper limit gives headroom for convection-cooled designs in sealed cabinets.
Package and mounting
The TO-220AB Insulated package provides full electrical isolation between the mounting tab and the die. Mount directly to a heatsink or chassis without an insulating pad.
