STTH61R04TV2 — dual 30 A fast recovery diode in ISOTOP
The STTH61R04TV2 from STMicroelectronics is a dual fast recovery diode module in the ISOTOP package, designed for chassis-mount power conversion. Two independent 30 A diodes share a common cathode configuration, each rated for 400 V reverse voltage and a 65 ns reverse recovery time (trr).
At 65 ns typical trr, this diode recovers fast enough to keep reverse-recovery charge low in a 50–100 kHz hard-switched converter. Compare that to a standard recovery rectifier at 2–5 µs: the STTH61R04TV2 cuts the recovery tail, reducing the MOSFET turn-on loss and the ringing that drives EMI filter cost. For a 400 V bus, the 15 µA leakage at rated voltage stays low enough to avoid thermal runaway in parallel strings.
ISOTOP chassis mount — thermal and mechanical fit
The ISOTOP (also marked ISOTOP®) package is a screw-mount power module with a metal baseplate for direct heatsink attachment. Two independent diodes in one package saves board area versus two TO-247s, and the chassis-mount form factor suits assemblies where the diode bank bolts to a cold plate or enclosure wall. The 150°C junction maximum gives headroom for hot environments — derate the 30 A per diode as the case temperature rises.
Lifecycle and channel status
ST lists the STTH61R04TV2 as Active, meaning no end-of-life notice and standard lead times through franchised distribution. That removes the last-time-buy risk for production builds.
