90 ns reverse recovery — switching loss ceiling
The STTH60L06TV1 is a 600 V, 40 A fast recovery diode module from STMicroelectronics, built with two independent diodes in a single ISOTOP package. Its 90 ns reverse recovery time (trr) is the headline switching parameter — it sets the turn-off loss floor in hard-switched rectifiers, boost stages, and snubber clamps operating above 20 kHz. The 1.55 V forward drop at 60 A per diode is the conduction loss trade-off for that recovery speed.
Two independent diodes in ISOTOP — layout and thermal budget
The two diodes are electrically independent, so the module can serve as a center-tap rectifier pair, a dual boost stage, or two separate snubber paths. The ISOTOP (ISOTOP®) package is a chassis-mount, isolated-base module — the mounting screws carry the thermal path to the heatsink, not the electrical connection. Reverse leakage is 25 µA at 600 V, which rises with temperature but stays manageable in a well-ventilated enclosure.
STMicroelectronics lists the STTH60L06TV1 as Active. ROHS3 compliant.
