Each diode in the pair handles 40 A continuous (average rectified). At 1.55 V forward drop at 30 A, conduction loss runs about 46 W per diode at full tilt — the TO-247-3 package needs a substantial heatsink and forced airflow to keep the junction below the 175 °C maximum. The common-cathode configuration means the two cathodes share the centre pin, which simplifies the PCB layout for a centre-tapped secondary or a dual-boost interleaved PFC.
