Active production — 40 ns trr for PFC and SMPS
The STTH5R06FP is an STMicroelectronics 600 V, 5 A fast recovery epitaxial diode with a reverse recovery time of 40 ns, housed in a TO-220 Full Pack isolated tab package. This is a standard recovery rectifier, not a Schottky — the 40 ns trr places it squarely in the ultrafast class, suited for continuous-current-mode power factor correction (CCM PFC) boost stages, output rectification in LLC resonant converters, and freewheeling diodes in motor drives where the reverse recovery charge must stay low to limit switching losses.
175°C junction — thermal budget for confined layouts
The maximum junction temperature is 175°C. The TO-220 Full Pack (TO-220FPAC) has the metal tab fully encapsulated.
At 5 A and 25°C junction, the forward voltage is 2.9 V maximum. This is higher than a Schottky of similar voltage rating, but the 600 V blocking capability and 40 ns trr make it the right choice for the high-voltage rail where a Schottky would not survive. The 20 µA reverse leakage at 600 V is low enough that leakage-induced self-heating is negligible in most designs.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
