Rated for a 175°C maximum junction temperature, this diode can run at full 5 A average rectified current in a confined enclosure without the derating penalty that 150°C-rated parts impose above 100°C case temperature. Forward drop is 1.3 V max at 5 A, and reverse leakage is only 5 µA at the full 600 V blocking voltage — a conduction-versus-blocking trade-off that suits line-rectified DC links and boost converters with moderate switching frequencies.
