600V 4A fast-recovery rectifier in DO-201AD
The STTH4L06 is a 600 V, 4 A standard fast-recovery diode in the through-hole DO-201AD axial package — a workhorse for PFC boost stages, flyback snubbers, and output rectification in 100-300 W power supplies where the reverse recovery time matters more than a Schottky's lower Vf. Rated 75 ns maximum reverse recovery time (trr) at 3 A, it bridges the gap between a standard ultrafast (35-50 ns) and a general-purpose recovery diode — fast enough to keep switching losses manageable in a 50-100 kHz hard-switched converter, without the higher Vf penalty of a 35 ns part.
Switching loss vs conduction loss trade-off
Reverse leakage is 3 µA at 600 V rated reverse voltage — this is the standby loss in a PFC stage at high line; at 85°C ambient the leakage roughly doubles per 10°C rise, so a 125°C junction pushes it toward 50 µA, still negligible for the thermal budget. The 75 ns trr is specified at IF=1 A, dI/dt=50 A/µs, typical of a hard-switched boost diode — the recovery charge Qrr is not listed, but the 75 ns figure implies a soft-recovery characteristic suitable for continuous-conduction-mode PFC without excessive ringing.
Active lifecycle and compliance
Base product number STTH4 covers the 4 A family in DO-201AD; the L suffix denotes the 600 V variant.
