The STTH3R06 is an STMicroelectronics fast-recovery rectifier rated 600 V reverse and 3 A average forward current, with a 35 ns reverse recovery time (trr) that suits continuous-conduction-mode PFC boost stages and snubber clamps in switched-mode supplies.

The 35 ns trr at 3 A forward current is the headline figure for a fast-recovery diode: it determines the reverse-recovery charge that must be swept out before the diode blocks, which directly sets the turn-off loss in a boost or flyback converter. At 600 V blocking, the leakage current is only 3 µA at rated voltage, keeping off-state dissipation negligible. Forward voltage is 1.7 V max at 3 A — this is the conduction-loss floor. At 3 A average, the forward dissipation is about 5.1 W, which the DO-201AD axial package must sink through the lead wires and board copper. The 175°C maximum junction temperature provides margin for high-ambient operation in enclosed power supplies.
