The 21 ns trr is specified at the rated forward current and reverse voltage — fast enough to keep switching losses low in 100–200 kHz converters, where the recovery tail would otherwise dominate the dissipation in the diode. Pair it with a MOSFET that has a comparable Qrr to balance the commutation loop.
