600 V, 30 A fast-recovery diode in D2PAK
The STTH30RQ06G-TR is a 600 V, 30 A fast-recovery rectifier from STMicroelectronics, in a surface-mount D2PAK package. It belongs to the ECOPACK® series and uses standard planar technology to deliver a 55 ns reverse recovery time (trr) with a maximum forward voltage drop of 2.95 V at 30 A.
Switching losses and thermal budget
The 55 ns trr is the key parameter for hard-switched topologies like boost PFC or output rectification in a 400 VDC bus system. A faster trr reduces the turn-off energy per cycle, which directly lowers the junction temperature for a given switching frequency. The 175°C maximum junction rating gives headroom for high-current operation when the D2PAK tab is soldered to a sufficient copper area. Reverse leakage is specified at 40 µA at the full 600 V blocking voltage. This leakage doubles with temperature, so the thermal design should account for the rise at the 175°C junction limit.
The D2PAK (TO-263AB) is a surface-mount package with two leads plus the tab.
The ECOPACK® series designation confirms the package is free of brominated flame retardants and antimony trioxide.
