30 A, 400 V fast recovery in a TO-220AC package
The STTH30R04DY is an STMicroelectronics automotive-grade fast recovery diode rated for 400 V reverse voltage and 30 A average rectified current, housed in a through-hole TO-220AC package. Its 100 ns reverse recovery time (trr) keeps switching losses low in hard-switched topologies like boost PFC stages and DC-DC converters in hybrid and electric vehicle power trains.
AEC-Q101 qualification and 175 °C junction rating
The 1.55 V forward voltage drop at 30 A sets the conduction loss — at full load that is about 46 W, so the TO-220AC tab must be heatsunk to keep Tj below the 175 °C ceiling.
