600 V, 30 A fast recovery in a DO-247 tabbed package
The STTH30L06W is a 600 V, 30 A standard fast recovery diode from STMicroelectronics in a DO-247-2 through-hole package with straight leads. It is built for continuous-current PFC boost stages, output rectification in 1–2 kW power supplies, and motor-drive snubber circuits where the 90 ns reverse recovery time keeps switching losses low enough to avoid oversized heatsinks.
90 ns trr — the switching-loss anchor
At 30 A and 600 V the 90 ns trr and 1.55 V forward drop at 30 A define the conduction-plus-switching loss budget. The 25 µA reverse leakage at 600 V stays low enough that the junction temperature stays under the 175 °C maximum in continuous hard-switching operation. This is not a 30 ns ultrafast diode — the 90 ns trr lands it in the fast-recovery class for 50–100 kHz SMPS and PFC, not for 500 kHz+ LLC converters that need a SiC or GaN companion.
