The STTH30L06G is a 600 V, 30 A fast recovery diode from STMicroelectronics, housed in a D2PAK surface-mount package. Its 90 ns reverse recovery time places it in the ultrafast class, making it a candidate for continuous-conduction-mode PFC boost stages, output rectification in 1–2 kW switch-mode supplies, and freewheeling diodes in hard-switched bridges.
STMicroelectronics lists the STTH30L06G as obsolete. New designs should not target this order code.
Ratings that drive the fit
Forward voltage is 1.55 V at 30 A, which sets the conduction loss at roughly 46 W at full rated current — heatsinking is mandatory for continuous operation. Reverse leakage is 25 µA at 600 V, typical for a fast recovery diode of this voltage class. The D2PAK (TO-263) footprint is shared by many 30 A-class rectifiers, so a pin-compatible alternate may exist within the STTH30 family or from competitors, but each must be evaluated for trr and Vf trade-offs.
