55 ns trr — fast enough for 100 kHz PFC
The STTH30AC06CPF is a 600 V, 15 A fast-recovery diode array from STMicroelectronics, packing two common-cathode diodes in a single TO-3PF through-hole package. Its 55 ns reverse recovery time (trr) puts it squarely in the ultrafast class — fast enough for a 100 kHz interleaved PFC stage without trading off too much conduction loss.
Conduction loss and thermal budget
That 29.25 W per diode at full load means the TO-3PF backside tab needs a good heatsink — the package is designed for it, with the tab electrically common to the cathode.
Common-cathode layout advantage
The common-cathode configuration pairs two diodes sharing the same cathode terminal. This simplifies the PCB layout for a two-phase interleaved boost PFC or a center-tapped secondary rectifier — one shared heatsink connection, fewer copper traces, and a cleaner power loop.
For a production BOM line, this part is specifiable without near-term obsolescence risk.
