Forward drop and thermal budget in D2PAK
Maximum forward voltage is 1.05 V at 15 A, 25°C junction. With two diodes sharing the common-cathode tab in a D2PAK package, the total dissipation at full load on both channels reaches 31.5 W before derating. Without that thermal mass, junction temperature climbs above the 175°C maximum rating at high ambient.
Reverse leakage and voltage margin
Reverse leakage is specified at 20 µA maximum at 200 V. On a 48 V DC bus (typical telecom rectifier output) that gives 4× voltage margin; leakage current stays under 5 µA at that operating point. The 200 V rating also covers 110–120 V DC intermediate rails with margin to spare.
