50 ns trr — the switching-loss ceiling
The STTH2R06U is a 600 V, 2 A fast recovery rectifier from STMicroelectronics, built for continuous-current switching stages where reverse recovery time sets the turn-off loss. Its 50 ns trr keeps the switching energy low enough for 100 kHz PFC boost stages and flyback snubbers — the diode recovers before the MOSFET's drain voltage rings back, so you don't burn the efficiency margin in the recovery tail.
600 V blocking with 175 °C junction
600 V reverse voltage covers the 400 VDC bus in a 230 VAC PFC stage with 1.5× derating — comfortable margin for line transients. At 2 A forward, the 1.7 V max Vf produces 3.4 W conduction loss; the SMB package's thermal pad on the cathode tab pulls that heat into the board copper.
ROHS3 compliant, no exemption conflicts for EU markets.
