AEC-Q101 qualification and 175 °C junction — under-hood diode fit
The STTH2R02AFY: Its 175 °C maximum junction temperature matches the under-hood thermal profile — an engine ECU or transmission controller that sees 125 °C ambient still has 50 °C margin before the junction limit.
20 ns trr — switching loss in continuous-conduction designs
The 20 ns reverse recovery time is the headline parameter for this diode — it determines the switching loss in a continuous-conduction boost converter or flyback snubber. Forward voltage is 1.02 V max at 2 A, 25 °C — the conduction loss at rated current is about 2 W, which the SOD-128 flat package dissipates through the copper pad on the PCB. Reverse leakage is 800 nA at 200 V, negligible for the standby budget in a battery-connected module.
SOD-128 flat package — reflow profile and footprint
The datasheet footprint calls for a 3.0 × 4.5 mm copper land under the tab; the pad area sets the thermal resistance to the board.
