26 ns trr — fast enough for 50–100 kHz PFC stages
Its 26 ns reverse recovery time makes it a candidate for hard-switched topologies like power-factor-correction boost stages, output rectification in 48 V telecom supplies, and freewheeling diodes in motor-drive inverters. The 1.2 V forward voltage at 10 A sets the conduction loss floor — at 10 A average per diode, each junction dissipates about 12 W. That needs a heatsink in continuous operation, but the TO-220 tab gives a low thermal path to a clip-on or bolt-on sink.
175°C junction — thermal margin in cramped enclosures
In a sealed PSU or a motor-drive bay where ambient can hit 85°C, the 175°C ceiling leaves room for the self-heating from the 1.2 V forward drop without derating the average current. Reverse leakage at 300 V is 10 µA typical — low enough that it doesn't eat into the thermal budget at high line, but it rises exponentially with junction temperature. At 150°C junction the leakage can be several milliamps, so the heatsink design should keep the junction below 140°C for best efficiency.
Active production — no LTB timeline to manage
The TO-220 through-hole package is a standard leaded form — no MSL concerns, no moisture sensitivity label. Tube shipment is the factory default, but it can also be or cut tape on request.
