Product details

40 ns trr — the switching-loss ceiling

The STTH2002G is a 20 A, 200 V fast recovery diode with a 40 ns reverse recovery time.

20 A in D2PAK — thermal budget, not just current

Rated 20 A average rectified at 1.1 V forward drop, the conduction loss alone is 22 W at full load. The D2PAK (TO-263) exposed tab must be soldered to a minimum 2 oz copper plane of at least 6 cm² to keep the junction below 175°C. Without that thermal pad area, the 20 A rating is theoretical. Reverse leakage is 10 µA at 200 V and 25°C — negligible at room temperature, but it doubles every 10°C rise. At 150°C junction the leakage can exceed 1 mA, adding to the thermal load. The 175°C absolute maximum junction rating gives headroom for high-ambient power loops like boost PFC stages or motor-drive DC bus snubbers.

Obsolete — no official successor on record

STMicroelectronics has not published a direct replacement order code for this part. The base product number STTH2 covers a family of 200 V fast recovery diodes in various packages (D2PAK, DPAK).
