600 V, 1 A, 45 ns — the switching diode for automotive power stages
A 45 ns reverse recovery time at 1 A forward current means this diode recovers fast enough for continuous-conduction-mode PFC stages, flyback snubbers, and freewheeling clamps switching in the 50–150 kHz range. The recovery is soft enough to keep EMI under control without a large series snubber resistor — a real advantage when board space in an ECU module is measured in square centimetres. That is a deliberate trade-off: the higher Vf buys the fast recovery and the 175°C junction rating. In a 1 A continuous circuit the conduction loss is about 1.9 W at full load — the SOD-128 flat package's thermal pad needs a decent copper pour on the PCB to keep the junction below 150°C in a 105°C ambient.
