The STTH1R06 is a 600 V, 1 A general-purpose fast recovery diode in a DO-41 axial-lead package.

Parametric check — junction temperature and forward drop

Rated for a 175°C maximum junction temperature, which gives thermal headroom in compact power supplies or elevated ambient environments. Forward voltage is 1.7 V max at 1 A — typical for a 600 V fast-recovery die; the trade-off is a higher Vf than a 1N4007, but the switching loss savings more than offset the conduction penalty in any circuit above 20 kHz. Reverse leakage is specified at 1 µA at 600 V, a tight limit that holds up well across temperature for a 600 V planar die. The DO-41 package (DO-204AL) is through-hole, which simplifies hand-assembly and rework but limits board density compared to an SMD alternative like SMA.

Can STTH1R06 replace 1N4007?

The STTH1R06 is a pin-compatible drop-in for a 1N4007 in the same DO-41 footprint, but the 45 ns trr is about 1000× faster than a standard-recovery 1N4007. In a 50/60 Hz line rectifier the 1N4007 works fine; in any switching supply above 20 kHz the STTH1R06 is the correct choice. The forward drop is higher (1.7 V vs ~1.1 V), so check the thermal budget at full load.
