Product details

20 A, 600 V fast recovery — PFC and SMPS output rectifier

The STTH15L06G-TR is a 20 A average, 600 V fast recovery diode from STMicroelectronics, built for continuous-conduction-mode PFC boost stages, hard-switched SMPS output rectification, and freewheeling paths in motor drives. Its 85 ns reverse recovery time keeps turn-off losses low enough that the D²PAK package can handle 20 A without oversized heatsinking, provided the PCB tab is soldered to a copper island.

85 ns trr — switching loss and snubber budget

At 85 ns trr, this diode recovers faster than standard 200–500 ns ultrafast parts. The recovery charge is low enough that a simple RC snubber across the diode usually contains the ringing.

D²PAK tab-soldered thermal path

The D²PAK (TO-263) package delivers the 20 A rating only when the exposed tab is soldered to a PCB copper area. Without that thermal mass, the junction climbs past 175 °C at full load.

ST lists the STTH15L06G-TR as Active.

Frequently asked questions

What is STTH15L06G-TR's listed speed?
