1.2 kV fast recovery diode in a through-hole insulated package
The STTH1512PI from STMicroelectronics is a 1200 V, 15 A fast-recovery rectifier diode in the DOP3I-2 insulated through-hole package. It's a general-purpose power diode built for the high-voltage side of PFC stages, snubber circuits, and output rectification in switched-mode supplies where the reverse recovery characteristic determines the switching loss.
105 ns trr at 15 A — what that buys you on the switching side
Reverse recovery time is 105 ns at 15 A forward current and 1200 V blocking voltage. That's the number that sets the cross-conduction window in a hard-switched topology — a slower recovery diode would overlap with the MOSFET turn-on and burn the efficiency curve. At 15 A continuous, the 2.1 V forward drop at rated current is the conduction loss floor; the thermal design has to sink that plus the switching loss from the recovery tail.
Through-hole DOP3I — the insulated tab matters on a high-voltage rail
That saves assembly time and improves thermal transfer.
Active production, ROHS3, sourced on request
It's ROHS3 compliant, so no exemption paperwork needed for the BOM.
