With a 175°C maximum junction temperature, the die can handle sustained thermal stress in enclosed power supplies where airflow is minimal.

D2PAK package — board-level fit
The part comes in a D2PAK surface-mount package with the standard 2-lead-plus-tab footprint. At 6.5 A per diode with a 25 ns trr, the switching losses are low enough that a properly laid-out D2PAK with adequate copper area can handle the dissipation without forced air in many PFC designs.
