ISOTOP — the thermal and mechanical reality
The ISOTOP package is a chassis-mount module designed to be bolted to a heatsink — the baseplate is the primary thermal path. The 1.05 V forward drop at 60 A means 63 W conduction loss per diode at full current; the junction is rated to 150 °C maximum, so the heatsink must keep the baseplate temperature low enough to stay within the junction limit at the expected load. Two independent diodes in one package means you get a common-cathode or common-anode pair depending on how you wire the terminals — useful for centre-tap secondary rectifiers or as a pair of freewheel diodes sharing a heatsink.
STMicroelectronics lists the STTH12002TV1 as obsolete.
