45 ns trr — fast recovery in a DO-41 axial
The STTH106 is a 600 V, 1 A fast-recovery rectifier from STMicroelectronics in the standard DO-204AL (DO-41) axial-lead package. Its 45 ns reverse recovery time places it well inside the Fast Recovery =< 500ns class, making it suitable for switching power supply output rectification, flyback snubber clamps, and PFC boost stages where reverse-recovery charge drives switching loss. The 1.7 V forward drop at 1 A is the on-state voltage the thermal budget accounts for; at lower currents the drop scales down, but the 1.7 V figure is the worst-case for junction temperature calculation.

This low leakage is typical for fast-recovery epitaxial diodes in this voltage class and keeps standing power loss negligible in off-state periods. The junction temperature rating of 175°C maximum sets the thermal limit for the die; the axial lead and body must be derated per the thermal resistance of the mounting, but the 175°C Tj ceiling is the hard stop for the silicon.
