Dual 50 A fast-recovery leg in a TO-247
The STTH100W04CW is a 400 V, 50 A per diode fast-recovery rectifier array in a common-cathode configuration, housed in a TO-247-3 through-hole package. The 50 ns reverse recovery time (trr) places it in the fast-recovery class (≤500 ns, >200 mA), making it a fit for output rectification in switch-mode power supplies and freewheeling diodes in motor-drive inverter stages where the recovery transient directly affects switching loss and EMI.
Parametric fit: 400 V, 50 A, 50 ns trr
Each diode in the pair is rated for 50 A average rectified current (Io) at a maximum forward voltage of 1.45 V at 50 A. The 400 V DC reverse voltage (Vr) rating covers 240 VAC rectified lines with margin for typical ringing. Reverse leakage is 25 µA at the rated 400 V, and the junction can operate up to 175°C — the thermal budget for a TO-247 in forced-air or heatsink-mounted designs. The common-cathode pair shares the same tab, so both diodes see the same heatsink potential.
Active production, ROHS3, through-hole TO-247
STMicroelectronics lists the STTH100W04CW as an active product with ROHS3 compliance. The TO-247-3 package is a standard through-hole footprint — no lead-free reflow profile needed, just a soldering iron or wave-solder bath.
