35 ns reverse recovery — the switching-loss anchor
The 35 ns reverse recovery time (trr) places this diode squarely in the fast-recovery class, rated for switching frequencies where a standard 500 ns recovery diode would burn too much power in the reverse-recovery spike. In a 100 kHz PFC boost stage, that 35 ns trr keeps the switching loss low enough to avoid oversized heatsinks.
300 V, 10 A, 1.3 Vf — the operating envelope
Rated 300 V reverse voltage and 10 A average forward current, with a maximum forward voltage of 1.3 V at 10 A. The 10 µA reverse leakage at 300 V is the standby-loss floor; junction temperature is rated to 175 °C max, so the thermal design must keep the die below that ceiling under full load.
D2PAK footprint and rework
The TO-263-3 / D2PAK surface-mount package has a large exposed copper tab on the bottom — the tab is the cathode and the primary thermal path. For rework, the hot-air profile needs to heat the tab through the board-side copper pour; a standard top-side nozzle alone may not wet the solder under the tab.
