The STPST5H100AF is a 100 V, 5 A Power Schottky Trench rectifier from STMicroelectronics, part of the ECOPACK®2 series. It uses Schottky technology for fast switching with a typical recovery time under 500 ns at rated current.
Forward voltage and leakage — the efficiency trade-off
At 5 A forward current, the maximum forward voltage is 680 mV — a solid figure for a 100 V Schottky, keeping conduction losses manageable in a 5 A rail. Reverse leakage at the 100 V blocking voltage is 11.5 µA, which is low enough for most continuous-conduction designs but worth checking if the diode sees sustained high temperature near the 175°C junction limit, where leakage climbs. For OR-ing or reverse-polarity protection, the 11.5 µA leakage at 100 V means negligible standby drain.
The SOD-128 flat package is a low-profile surface-mount footprint, roughly the same board area as an SMA but thinner. It's intended for reflow soldering; the flat leads give good thermal transfer to the PCB copper. No through-hole option — this is a pick-and-place part for automated assembly.
It carries the ECOPACK®2 designation, meaning it meets ST's RoHS and halogen-free requirements.
