The STPS8H100DEE-TR is a 100 V, 8 A Schottky rectifier in ST's PowerFlat 3.3x3.3 mm surface-mount package. It is the part you reach for when you need a low-forward-drop diode on a 48 V bus, a 24 V industrial rail, or a 12 V automotive supply with enough headroom for transients. The 100 V Vr(max) gives you margin above a nominal 48 V bus (which can spike to 60 V during load dump), and the 8 A average forward current handles moderate output rectification or OR-ing in a 150 W to 200 W supply. Forward voltage is 820 mV at 8 A and 25°C junction — that is the conduction loss floor. At 8 A and 820 mV, each diode dissipates about 6.6 W, which the PowerFlat package must sink through the exposed pad.
Reverse leakage and thermal stability
Reverse leakage is specified at 4.5 µA at 100 V and 25°C. That number climbs with junction temperature — expect it to multiply by roughly 10× for every 25°C rise above 25°C. In a hot enclosure (85°C ambient), leakage can become a non-trivial contributor to standby loss if the diode is reverse-biased for long periods. The 175°C Tj rating means the die itself survives, but the system designer must keep the junction below that limit under worst-case load and ambient.
