The STPS745D is a 45 V, 7.5 A Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics in a through-hole TO-220AC package. It is a standard-recovery Schottky (not ultrafast) with a forward drop of 840 mV at 15 A — twice the average rating, which gives a realistic conduction loss figure for surge or inrush conditions.
Junction temperature and thermal headroom
Rated for a maximum junction temperature of 175°C, this diode can operate in confined or high-ambient enclosures — think sealed power supplies, motor drives, or industrial converters — without derating the current prematurely. The TO-220AC tab is the primary heat path; a heatsink or chassis mount is expected at 7.5 A continuous.
