60 A common-cathode Schottky pair in a TO-220
Conduction loss and thermal budget at 30 A per diode
At 30 A forward current the Vf is 560 mV max — that is 16.8 W of conduction loss per diode at rated current. In a common-cathode pair running both diodes at full load, the TO-220 case sees 33.6 W total dissipation. Reverse leakage at 45 V is 1.5 mA typical — Schottky leakage climbs with junction temperature, so at high ambient the leakage component adds to the thermal load. The 45 V Vr(max) is the absolute ceiling; for a 24 V or 12 V rail the margin is comfortable, but a 48 V bus leaves only 3 V headroom before avalanche.
