100 V, 5 A Schottky — leakage and thermal budget
The STPS5H100SF is a 100 V, 5 A Schottky rectifier in the TO-277A (SMPC) surface-mount package. Reverse leakage is 8 µA at the rated 100 V — a typical figure for a 100 V Schottky at 25°C, but leakage doubles with every 10–15°C junction rise, so at 125°C the standby loss becomes a design consideration in ORing or reverse-polarity circuits where the diode is always biased. The 175°C maximum junction temperature gives headroom above the 150°C typical for many Schottkys — useful in high-ambient power supplies or motor-drive snubber positions where the diode sees repetitive current pulses.
TO-277A (SMPC) is a 3-lead PowerDFN with an exposed pad on the package bottom — the pad is the cathode. The package is rated for surface-mount reflow per JEDEC J-STD-020. ECOPACK®2 finish is lead-free and halogen-free, compatible with lead-free solder profiles.
