Dual 20 A Schottky in a TO-220 common-cathode pair
The STPS41H100CT is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, with two 20 A rated diodes in a common-cathode configuration inside a single TO-220-3 through-hole package. It is designed for high-current power rectification, OR-ing, and freewheeling applications where low forward voltage and fast switching are needed. Reverse leakage is specified at 10 µA at 100 V.
Forward drop and thermal budget at 20 A
In a 40 A total output (both diodes conducting), the combined forward power dissipation is roughly 32 W at full load, which the TO-220 package must shed through a heatsink. Reverse leakage at 10 µA at 100 V is typical for a 100 V Schottky at room temperature, but expect leakage to rise exponentially with junction temperature — a factor to budget in high-ambient or minimally cooled enclosures.
